Remarks & Notes
When the first railway in Switzerland was built in 1847 between Baden and Zürich (23 kilometers), the locomotives came from Emil Kessler in Karlsruhe/Germany, but all were demolished later. So in 1947 a replica of the first locomotive was built, a new D 1/3 "Limmat" with boiler insulation in wood. We can see this locomotive on a test run near Erstfeld for the celebration of 125 years Gotthard line the following days.
