The tracks are down there somewhere. An almost unrecognizable West Portal of the Cascade Tunnel as BNSF goes into full-blown snow removal mode in early 2008 after an insane series of storms dumps snow measured in feet daily for about 8 weeks. With nowhere left to push the snow an emergency snow removal response & forecast team is set up in Skykomish WA and a second Jordan Spreader brought in from the mid-west is put on 24-hour duty. At Scenic BNSF hires contractors to help with D8 Cats, excavators and an 880 loader. Steve Carter and I snowshoe into this scene. Click Here to view my favorite shot from this deep winter!
