Remarks & Notes |
A pair of DRS locos appear to be spending the weekend parked at York station. The leading one is 57 008 and the other is 37 194. The Class 57s were originally built in the early 1960s as Class 47s and in the 1990s, were reworked and upgraded with many sophisticated modern features, the most major modification being the fitting of General Motors 645 series engines. This example was originally delivered to Freightliner, but changed hands in 2007 and went to DRS. This company is owned by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (Govt. owned). This company transports all the nuclear flask traffic around Btitain. |
