The railroad yard in East Ely, Nevada is a place that has seemingly been left behind by the march of time. The infrastructure, the rolling stock and even the power are pretty much all as they were 75-100 years ago. In this scene, Nevada Northern Railway's Alco #93 backs away from the engine house in a heavy snowstorm. Only the tiny swatches of color and perhaps the snow-covered track maintenance equipment in the distance are clues that this photo was taken in 2009, not 1939.
