Remarks & Notes

Two GP40-2s built new for the ARR in 1975 still wear their as delivered black and yellow scheme. They are sitting on the freight main at the north end of the yard awaiting a small traffic jam to begin assembling their short train of company service equipment to make a turn to Birchwood and back. While the rest of the railfan world is posting springtime photos from the lower 48, in Alaska it is still very much a winter wonderland.
