Remarks & Notes
The process of completely rebuilding the upper 30 miles of UP's Cane Creek Subdivision in Utah has required several months but the completion of the work is drawing near. A few newly installed crossing signal assemblies have yet to be completed along the route. Without the benefit of protection at the crossing of Thornburg Mine Road near Seven Mile, the crew was required to bring the local to a complete stop and check for oncoming auto traffic. The stop was well worth it, as a member of the crew flags a Subaru Forester (loaded with Moab tourists) safely across the tracks. The crew of the LDC53 will soon resume their journey down the branch to Potash.
