Finally! I caught a second train in good light at this location. And this was the second chance, the first spoiled by the open door of a very late Cascades 516, featuring another P32, AMTK 509. Now Cascades 509 featuring AMTK 505 (how do they keep this stuff straight?) passes the DPU of a grain train waiting to put it's train at TEMCO, just around the corner, but still under the watchful gaze of Mt. Rainier.
From Vancouver, BC, to Eugene, OR, this route runs along stretches of Puget Sound and the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. The TALGO trainsets that were the line's backbone for many years were withdrawn from service after they were cited in the 2017 crash
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
