Big Red’s on the Branch…. Selkirk bound G39626 with ES44AC’s #8800 and #8878 is seen accelerating away from CP-VO with a load of grain for ADM’s mill in Hudson, NY. New York’s Capital Region is home to many milling operations that supply New York and New England’s appetite for flour and other milled products. CP power has again been appearing regularly on Grain, Ethanol and General Merchandise trains. After dropping its train in Selkirk, the power was placed on River Line Southbound Q268 to end up returning to Selkirk on Q439. On August 2nd both units, along with two other CP GE’s returned west on G349.
