The second P42DC in this shot wouldn't load when the Zephyr was in Salt Lake City. As a result, UP 1989 was borrowed from Union Pacific for the trip east to Denver (and ultimately to Chicago). Here, the train is coming around Big Ten Curve just west of Denver. Rio Grande units used to pilot the Zephyr often in the 1980's. A little look at what might have been if Rio Grande were still around!
