Remarks & Notes
Lobato blow-down! The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad's daily train from Antonito to Chama is very nearly home as she coasts across the Lobato Trestle, about 4 miles from the Chama Yard. As she does, her crew takes one last opportunity to clear the boiler's mudring by lifting the blow-down valves on both sides. The result is a pretty spectacular photo opportunity, not to mention a roar that can be heard a mile away!

The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad are all that remains of the legendary Denver & Rio Grande Western narrow gauge system. Here you'll find some of my favorites from these two beautiful railways.
