Although Nevada Northern's sleek ten-wheeler often pulled fast freights, she was most at home with the consist you see here. RPO Baggage Car #20 and Coach #5 are the operational remnants of a small fleet of cars that were used in passenger service from Ely to Cobre from about 1906 through the early 1940s. This equipment was built in the 1880s and was purchased second hand by the Nevada Northern. Locomotive #40, which is nearly 30 years newer than these cars, is seen here pulling the historic "Steptoe Flyer" southbound through Robinson Canyon, south of Ely.
