Remarks & Notes
N&W 1151, one of the "lost engines of Roanoke", sits outside the Virginia Museum of Transportation below the Fifth Street bridge. This locomotive and several others were recently "saved" from the site where they had been rusting away for decades behind Virginia Scrap Iron & Metal off Jefferson Street in South Roanoke. N&W 1151 is an M2c 4-8-0 and was built in 1911 by Norfolk & Western at their East End Shops in Roanoke.
