This is a view inside the Valley RR's "New Haven" No. 3025's smoke box. The locomotive is in the middle of rebuilding and is slated for a 2011 steam-up. The screen, the stack, the superheater tubes, and all flues and tubes have been removed for it's "1472" inspection. The only things left are the front tube sheet, the superheater header and the steam pipes. For you rivet counters: there are none! Note the all-welded boiler of this modern 1989 Tangshan product. Ironically, I have a similar shot of sister NYS&W No. 142. photoid =317269
