Housed in an extensively rebuilt freight warehouse in downtown Omaha, Nebraska, is Union Pacific's Harriman Dispatch Center. Working inside, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, are dispatchers for nearly the entire 36,000-mile Union Pacific Railroad, covering their operations in 23 states (there are a few dispatchers off-site, but not many).
