Remarks & Notes
The Apocalypse?!? Perhaps, for fans of the Reading Railroad. This was the view for engineers looking out the front of the cab as they approached Philadelphia, PA. The Viaduct was opened in 1893 and was built to reach the Philadelphia and Reading's new Reading Terminal in the heart of the downtown Philadelphia. Last used by SEPTA in November, 1984, it is hoped by many that the city will consider converting part of the right of way to a park similar to what had been accomplished in NYC.
