Remarks & Notes
A Conrail passenger train runs south of South Amboy along side the Raritan Bay, on its way to Bay Head. This image was shot from the Route 35 through truss overpass. The two GP40Ps are pulling a string of used fluted side passenger cars from a number of other railroads. By this time, all of this equipment belonged to New Jersey DOT, but the trains were being run by Conrail. If memory serves me right, we had set up here hoping for some Es, but were surprised by the GEEPs.
