Norfolk and Western Alco RS3 No. 300 lays over at the modest NF&D shop facility at Lawrenceville, VA. NF&D was a subsidiary of N&W and leased power from N&W on a regular basis to supplement their small fleet. On the day I shot this, I didn't even realize that N&W owned any RS3s, that they had ordered new at least. A total, but pleasant surprise.
