Remarks & Notes |
ACL could never be accused of not adequately elevating curves. This policy carried on through SCL and into Seaboard System. The speed restriction for the curve at Falling Creek was 60 MPH. On Nov. 29, 1986, southbound manifest No. 461 blasts around the curve at track speed with two GP40s and three GP38-2s. The track to the right is the original ACL main line and was downgraded when the new line was built between 1917 and 1919. By 1986, it was an industrial track serving South Richmond. The MofW shack to the right dates to the ACL era. |
