Remarks & Notes
Times were fun back in 1978. This image was taken within 100 feet of my back door. I knew RF&P's GP7s were nearing the end of their lives and I took every opportunity to shoot them in the lead. When I would hear them blow for Langford Crossing, on the south side of Ashland, I would dash out of the house shoot them if the sun angle was right, or just watch the show if it wasn't. The GP7s had five chime horns, different from the other GPs, with three chimes. On the morning of Oct. 31, 1978, GP7 No. 103 led two newer GPs on a southbound No. 105 as it passed through Elmont, VA.
