Remarks & Notes

A southbound work extra is dumping welded rail at Elmont, VA on August 2, 1979, led by GP7 No. 103. Because of its size, it wasn't economically feasible for RF&P to have its own rail train. Most often, trains were leased from Chessie System, occasionally from SCL and L&N, and once from D&H.
