Remarks & Notes
A photograph from a different world - and in many ways the world was different in those times. An 0-4-0 tank engine belonging to the National Coal Board goes about its daily routine at an unknown colliery in the South Wales coalfield. The colliery is unknown because I've lost all my notes from those distant days, when you could just turn up at a colliery and wander around without anyone taking any interest in what you were doing. The world may or may not be a safer place these days, but,oh,for those times when this was a daily scene in hundreds of places all over the country.
