| The museum's current project. We are cosmetically restoring our 0-6-0 Outer Harbor Terminal Railway No. 2 locomotive which includes building a brand new cab! It was built in 1887 making it our oldest piece in the museum. As you can see it's stripped down to the bare bones with the stack, cab, and headlight gone to name a couple major things. You can see the stack along with the headlight's outer frame and some other things on pallets on the right side the picture ready to be taken to get sandblasted so they can be painted and put back on in the near future. Hopefully she'll be looking better soon because I've heard that they are hoping to have it done by the end of the year, but things don't happen too quickly at the museum and I'm having my doubts that it will be done by then... This view of the engine was taken from on top of the tender of the Big Boy. |
