Ambrose, WV 2/11/2012 - This remote location along the Potomac River, just west of Hancock, WV, has been a popular photo location--and thoroughly published in many venues--in recent months, as the final trains move beneath this classic B&O signal bridge. This frigid Saturday afternoon, the second of two westbound empty hopper trains passes the Ambrose signals, just 48 hours before the B&O CPL's will go dark, and the bridge prepared for dismantling. The cutover to the new modern "Safetrans" signals nearby will be Monday morning, February 13th.
