Remarks & Notes
SOB's fleet of BDe 4/4 push-pull trains became largely obsolete as they bought modern FLIRT EMUs for their S-Bahn trains. The powerful BDe 4/4 units (2100 kW) were sold, some to Makies, who operate quarries, gravel plants, trucks and two trains. They were partially rebuilt; One had its seats replaced by a diesel generator, to be used for shunting on non-electrified tracks.

Currently, there are one or two trains per week from Gettnau to Affoltern am Albis, hauling gravel. This consist is able to operate in push-pull mode with a BDe 4/4 at each end (they're connected by a cable and both units are working together), thus the train can easily be reversed at Lucerne and Zug.

The lead unit bears the new livery, and, of course, got the nickname "stoned cucumber" (which is even more funny in English than it is in German).
