Remarks & Notes
The company the photographer held an assembly-line job with went on strike for a 25-cent raise in September 1951. That was all the temptation he needed to climb aboard PRR train #13, an overnight mail train that ran to Pittsburgh from New York as far as Altoona for his first exposure at the heart of the PRR. It was pulled by babyface #5833, and after detraining he got this shot at the head end with his Bolsey camera loaded with Kodachrome. BLW Model designation DR-12-8-3000.
