Oil burner J541 was restored to operating condition back in 2008, with the aim of being operated on the Yarra Valley Railway in Healesville. However, at the time the YVR was not ready to begin operating trains, so 541 was sent to the Victorian Goldfields Railway at Maldon, where it ran for about five years. It has now been moved to the Newport Workshops in Melbourne where it is receiving an overhaul before making the final trip (by road) out to Healesville to join the YVR.
