Operation Lifesaver painted GP38-2 5669 drops off of track 8 after spotting some sugar cars to be used later by the plant.. Built in 1905, the main plant was living on borrowed time being phased out in favor of an enlarged more modern facility outside of Hershey. This plant would see its last cars in May 2012 and only the Hershey Smokestacks and the old powerhouse remain today..
