Remarks & Notes

Before the Ansco Rio Grande Ski Train bought three F40PHs from Amtrak, they leased a like number from them for a couple years. On March 5, 2000, one of the locomotives was ailing, so Union Pacific provided Rio Grande GP40-2 No. 3100 as replacement power. Here the eastbound train returns to Denver passing over Blue Mountain Drive grade crossing west of Clay, Colorado.
