The Beast! Ever wonder what craws below the streets of NYC? Well - this might be one of those critters! Then again, the Plasser American 09-32-4S Dynamic Tamping Express Unit can be spotted almost anywhere ballast needs to be repacked and tracks stabilized. In this instance, a transfer at Penn Station offered a rare opportunity to grab a photo or two at the now covered open air section west of Penn Station, between 9th and 10th avenues. Naturally, I had an Acela or "Toaster" in mind but hey, work with what you get!
