With the Galloping Goose running and incredible fall colors around, lots of people were chasing train 216 out of Chama, NM, on October 4. We decided to ditch the masses after the train passed Lobato Trestle and walk over the top of the formation at Windy Point, near the summit at Cumbres.
We walked in and waited in nothing but clouds; it even spit rain on us a couple times! Thankfully, God brought the sun out as the train was emerging from the clump of aspen trees at the rear of the train! It was so close the upper left corner of the photo is still in shadows.
