Reading & Northern #425 rounds the cut at Glen Onoko in the Lehigh Gorge just minutes after visiting Nickel Plate #765 made an appearance on the far track. The NKP #765 was on an excursion sponsored by NS and continued on to Pittston, PA with a return to Allentown, PA via Jim Thorpe while R&N #425 ran shorter trips through the Gorge.
This was the first time #425 had appeared in her new livery celebrating her heritage as a former Gulf, Mobile & Northern engine. It would, however, be a few more weeks before the drivers and trailing truck were painted black as seen here in this photo from September 13th.
