An Amtrak AEM-7 sits outdoors on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. To the left, in front of the Museum, earlier predecessors, PRR K4 Pacific PRR #3750 sits positioned next to PRR DD-1 #3936, a box cab "motor". NKP 757 is on display behind the DD-1. The DD-1 was built at the PRR's Juniata shops in 1911 and received its power through a third rail.
Locomotive No. 915 was donated by Amtrak to the Museum in June of 2015 and takes the place of Amtrak E60 No. 603 (behind) as the Museum's ‘youngest’ locomotive. Amtrak rostered 54 while 6 others went to commuter operators. Built by EMD between 1978 and 1988, a few, ironically, are still in service with Amtrak as of December, 2015, though it is likely none will remain active by the start of the new year.
