| Georgia Northeastern Railroad GP18 #8705 stands with its former twin #6576 in the midnight hour on a cold, still night. The #8705 was built as a high hood GP18 for the Nickel Plate Road in 1960 and is only 2 years younger than its GP9 relative #6576. The '05 had a face lift in the fall of 2014 and now sports the low hood seen here. There were plans to chop the high hood on the '76 but were nixed due to the new Patriot Rail acquisition but will most likely see the same fate in time. |
