On September 14, 2013, both of Amtrak's Coast Starlight trains were detoured over Tehachapi Pass and the Central California Valley due to the Union Pacific perform track work along the Coast Subdivision. Here, Amtrak #11 chugs up the two percent grade leading into Tunnel 2 as it makes the climb towards the 4,000 ft. high summit.
