Remarks & Notes
Amtrak #5 has departed Hastings, NE, roughly 14.5 hours late after getting stuck behind a train that got stuck in a snowdrift. They ran around the offending train at the Hastings siding, where the other train had to clear the snow off the front of their locomotive, which completely covered their view. With a high of -30 and winds 25-30 mph, gusting to 60, the wind chill here was estimated to be below -50 degrees.
