The Circus is in town! As the Summer sun beats down on southern California's famed Tehachapi Pass the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey 'blue unit' Circus train carefully negotiates Clear Creek Ravine on its way down the mountain. The Circus is en-route to Fresno, CA for their next performance over the July 4th weekend. In moments the train's head end, led this day by two BNSF and two CSXT road motors, will enter the east portal of tunnel 3 on the approach to Bealville. The train highlights the railroads course around the neck of Clear Creek Ravine, through tunnel 5, and up to Cliff in the upper left. Remains from the devastating 1952 earthquake also mark this photo, including the remains of abandoned tunnel 4 and the temporary shoo-fly alignment around tunnel 5.
