On June 25, 2016, the Volunteer Railroaders sponsored a night photo shoot on the Black River & Western Railroad. All fired up under coal, the 1937 built Alco 2-8-0 #60 poses at the depot in Ringoes, New Jersey, with railroad volunteers adding to the authentic feeling of the scene.
Serving small industries in Hunterdon County for 50 years, the Black River and Western serves as an active line and a window to the past of New Jersey with rural farms and small creeks.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
