Remarks & Notes
Amidst the charred landscape on the western slope of Cajon Pass a monster westbound BNSF stack train carefully drops down grade with its head end approaching Pine Lodge on the former 'north track'. The massive 'Blue Cut' wildfire burned over 37,000 acres, claimed over 100 homes in the surrounding hills, and forced both BNSF and UP to suspend rail operations for a few days during its peak.
