| Not museum pieces yet! Having finished their work at Rice the Mojave Desert again echoes the chant of 6 second generation EMDs as they bring westbound tonnage on ARZC train 708 across the desert towards the BNSF at Cadiz, CA. Originally built in 1969 ARZC SD40M 4002 began life as Southern Pacific SD45 9005, later it was rebuilt as SD45R 7522. After its time with the SP was over it became a leaser and rebuilt as an SD40M, eventually finding its way to the ARZC. |
