A westbound BNSF stack train departs Lyle, Washington, on a beautiful afternoon in the Columbia River Gorge on September 24, 2016. It looks like an intermodal train—but don’t let the containers fool you—it is an empty garbage train returning to western Washington after unloading at Roosevelt Regional Landfill.
