An eastbound loaded taconite train is on the wrong main as they work out of LaCrosse towards Prairie du Chien. Here the train passes thru Genoa, about 20 miles of LaCrosse. This section of thew Aurora Sub was ABS territory with manual crossovers ever so often. Lots of time for MofW work windows a switch tender would be called out to help get the manual crossovers to keep trains crossover around work. The west end of the Aurora Sub was upgraded to CTC in 2015 due to the PTC upgrades needed and the increase of oil traffic on this line to add capacity.
