In the 1990s, Conrail's Lehigh Line and Harrisburg Line were normally visited by freshly re-manufactured units from the Morrison-Knudsen plant at Mountain Top, Pennsylvania. A large order for Southern Pacific SD40M-2s was under way in 1994 and the Conrail Allentown to Enola freight, ALHB, often would see the fresh units leading. On September 1, SP 8600, 8601 and 8655 led Conrail GP38-2 8231 at Derry Road in Hershey, PA. Scanned from my Kodachrome 25 slide.
