Relics of the past are seen at every angle in the Steamtown National Historic Site. Here, Baldwin Locomotive Works #26 switches around the yard with the "Scranton Limited" as she passes fellow steam sister, Canadian National #3377. Hopefully with enough money and time #3377 will steam once more bringing the haunting notes of a Canadian National 6 chime whistle to the Pocono Mountains. She has served well as a parts source for Canadian National #3254, but talk of restoring her as a replacement to #3254 has already begun. Additionally, the walkway leading up to the Steamtown Mall (center picture) is the former coaling dock used by the Lackawanna Railroad in this very same yard. With the capacity to coal approximately 6 locomotives on either side of the dock simultaneously one can quickly realize how extensive the steam industry was in the Northeastern mountains of Pennsylvania.
