CP/D&H train 556 rolls into the CR/CSX interchange point in Philadelphia as it passes under the Walnut Street bridge at 12:25 pm on May 21, 1992.The B&O’s Chestnut Street Station, its main passenger facility in Philadelphia stood to the right of the tracks about ten cars behind the power until it was destroyed in a 1963 fire. The 27 story building to the right is the headquarters of PECO Energy, while across the Schuylkill River at the extreme left is the U.S. Post Office. Beyond the post office, directly to the left of the lead unit, is Amtrak’s former PRR 30th Street Station.
