The American Association of Private Rail Car Owners (AAPRCO) convention train, running as Amtrak symbol 810–17 and named "The Green Mountain Flyer", passes the old Rutland Railroad section house in East Wallingford, Vermont, on Vermont Rail System's Green Mountain Railroad Bellows Falls subdivision. Amtrak P42 #111 leads P40 #822 and the 18 colorful private cars westbound for the night run over the GMRC to Rutland.
The Green Mountain Flyer was a special train of privately owned railroad cars that are part of the American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners (AAPRCO). The train was in conjunction with the annual convention in 2017.
The GE Genesis series are well known for being Amtrak's locomotive. With confirmation of retirement from Amtrak themselves, their time is limited. Now is your chance to catch them before the chargers arrive!
