Remarks & Notes

In 1997 the line through the Sierra de la Culebra was only served once a day by one trainpair. Nevertheless the line was in quite a good condition and relative high speeds were permitted on this well build mountain line. RENFE 354-002-8 "Virgen de la Macarena" passes the former station of A Mezquita-Vilavella (La Mezquita-Villavieja) with her Talgo 151 from Madrid-Chamartin to A Coruña. The pond on the left of the photo was formerly the turntable.
