A CNJ survivor and Scranton landmark - built in 1891 at the top of a switchback, this freight house served as the Western most terminus for the railroad originating in Jersey City. An equally impressive passenger station once stood nearby. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and I believe it is privately owned. There was talk of putting a restaurant inside back in 2006, but it has otherwise sat unused, but well cared for.
