During the early morning light we witness 4,300 horsepower kickin it' into high gear as the UP 1989 Rio Grande Commemorative Unit lead the 3,000ft in length NS 223 south on the outskirts of Dalton, GA (MP-49.0H) on the single main track near the Carbondale area. On a humorous side of things, just 10 second before this shot was made the foreground was covered with perfect sunlight, making it a picture perfect moment since one of the UP Commemorative Unit was making a rare appearance in the southeast, but unfortunately mother nature has other plans, and with a large area of blue skies just east of use, a large patch of cloud rolled right in front of the sun. Never the less it was still a fun day cloudy or not!
