Foggy East Broad Top: Echoes of the Past. EBT Mikado #15 steams at the ash pit as her stablemate, Mikado #17 rests on an adjacent track. In days of old, multiple narrow gauge Mikados would be steamed up in this yard, but unfortunately, when this image was made in 2011, the 15 was the only operable engine. The 17 had been brought out of the roundhouse for display at the Fall Spectacular, but she had not operated in more than 10 years. Little did I know at the time, but this would be one of 15's last operating days. Just a couple of months later, the EBT shut down for good.
A look at the one-time coal-hauler, which ran as a tourist railroad for decades and finally ceased operations in 2011. The album includes photos from an October 2010 charter as well as images from the very last Fall Spectacular in October of 2011.
