| In January of this year CSX announced that it was reviewing 8000 miles of its lines for potential sale or lease. One of two lines confirmed to be on the chopping block right away is the route across the Florida panhandle. This move would put the Waycross to New Orleans freight trains of Q601/602 back on the the A&WP route that they once ran from 2010-2011. This afternoon's Q601 uses a quartet of GE power as it brings 70 cars into Opelika. |
